The project

A district whose ambitionshave outgrown its infrastructure.

Zamara is a doctor-led tertiary care hospital rising in Vengara, Malappuram — not from an empty site, but from a facility this community has relied on for a quarter of a century.

A ₹100 crore investment converts it into a full tertiary centre: 150+ beds, 18 major specialities, a new critical care unit, advanced diagnostics, and infrastructure built for the next twenty-five years rather than the last.

The patients are already here. The trust is already built. What changes is what we can do for them.

Zamara Hospital clinical capabilities

Critical care

The unit this catchment has never had.

A 12-bed critical care unit with 24×7 intensivist coverage, central monitoring and full ventilator support — SICU, MICU, NICU and PICU under one roof.

Today, a cardiac emergency in Vengara means a drive. Every kilometre of that drive is a clinical outcome.

Clinical scope

18 specialities. One address.

Cardiology, neurology, nephrology, oncology, gastroenterology, urology, orthopaedics, obstetrics and gynaecology, paediatrics and neonatology — full-spectrum care that currently sends patients elsewhere.

Care that stays in the district is revenue that stays in the district.

Diagnostics

Answers in hours, not journeys.

Advanced imaging and laboratory diagnostics on site, matched to the district’s actual disease burden: cardiac, diabetes, orthopaedic and respiratory.

In a population where nearly 40% of primary care patients carry more than one chronic condition, diagnosis is not a convenience. It is the service.

The opportunity

Kerala averages 3 hospital beds per 1,000 people.Malappuram has 0.8.

Malappuram is Kerala’s largest and fastest-growing district — 4.3 million people, 93% literacy, and one of the world’s fastest-growing urban agglomerations between 2015 and 2020. It is also the state’s most under-bedded.

Nearly a quarter of Kerala’s Gulf returnees live here, carrying a chronic disease burden materially higher than non-migrants.
